A village in the Gunupur subdivision is 94 kms from Raygada district. The Jagdamba hill nearby is abode to five Lord Shiva temples namely, Manikeswar, Dhavaleswar, Mallikeswar, Nilakantheswar and Podukeswar. Archaeological findings have revealed Buddhist connections of the place at Mallikeswar shrine, where the inscriptions are in the characters of the 7th century AD, preserving a small genealogy of three Buddhist Acharyas – Chandralekha, Bhaddhakhan and Dharmakirtti. The archaeological evidences indicate a monastery of Acharya Dharmakirtti flourished in the hill.

The earliest Buddhist complex, dating back to 1 st century A.D., has a huge brick monastery, the remains of a Shaitya hall, a number of enigmatic stupas and a relocated stone Stupa at the apex of a small rugged sand stone hill (Pushpagiri Hill), dominates the rustic greenery around.
Just round the corner of this excavated site, is Langudi Hill. Excavations unearthed a cluster of splendid rock-cut stupas, two unique Buddha images in samadhi mudra, harmonic umbrella, sculptures of Goddess Tara and Panchadhyani Buddha.
